How Urdd Gobaith Cymru Can Help

Urdd Gobaith Cymru was established in 1922 to give children and young people the opportunity to learn and socialise through the medium of Welsh. By today the Urdd has over 50,000 members between 8 and 25 years old.

The Urdd Open Air Service – The aim of the Urdd Open Air Service is to offer opportunities to children and young people to enjoy adventurous activities in the open air, all over the country and that either through the medium of Welsh, or in a Welsh atmosphere.

The aim of the Urdd is to ensure an opportunity, through the medium of Welsh, for all the youth of Wales to develop as complete individuals; and enabling them to play a constructive part in society nurturing personal and social skills. Our Urdd Open Air Service uses the open air as a method of promoting this aim.

We provide accreditation and experiences in a variety of open air activities, throughout North Wales. We can create bespoke courses for every group, depending on the ability of the individuals, the location of the group and the aim of the course.
